Softball Player can Dance

Talk about dancing and diamonds – more specifically, the softball diamond! In case you thought that softball players demonstrate no footwork, Caroline Jens is about to prove you wrong.
Playing softball with the Los Gatos Saratoga Softball League (http://lgsgsa.org) since she was eight, Caroline has played spring rec softball and summer ball with the Magic travel team. She zips around the bases and credits her fast base running abilities to the numerous hours spent in her other passion – Irish dancing.
A freshman at SHS, Caroline dances at the “Open Championship” level in Irish step dancing. This is the most elite level in the dance genre and the dancers perform in national and international competitions on a regular basis.
On October 5, Caroline danced with the Chieftains – a world famous Irish band, at the Mountain Winery in Saratoga. It was a thrilling experience to dance at a hometown venue with a world famous band. Caroline hopes to repeat a hometown venue performance when she plays with the SHS softball team in the spring. We look forward to seeing you zipping around the bases, Caroline!
